Location / Vicinity

DJENOVIĆI

The small fishing village of Djenovići is hidden in Herceg Novi Riviera, in the shadow of orange, tangerine and olive plantations. There are many small beaches along the coast that offer rest and relaxation. This part of the coast has a pleasant micro-climate with an average annual temperature of 16.2 Cº and over 200 sunny days. While the rest of Europe is covered with snow, in Djenovići mimosa blooms. “Praznik mimoze” (Mimosa holidays) is held early in February to celebrate this yellow flower. The festival has continued for four hundred years. Traditional feasts of wine and fish, a carnival parade, masquerade and majorettes with lots of music in the city represent a few events on the program. There’s something to appeal to all visitors. Walking or riding a bike along the coast gives a real Mediterranean feeling and you can take a break on the sunny terrace of a café bar or smaller restaurant.

Many holiday resorts (Žanjice, Rose) offer wild bays and caves (the most famous one is Plava spilja-Blue cave) which can be visited by small boats. There is also the possibility of organized cruising along the whole bay.
